FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What exactly is Hypnotherapy?
The best description I have heard of hypnosis is as "A Curious Detached Parallel Awareness." As a client relaxes, their critical conscious mind begins to drift from the usual Beta frequency of the conscious mind, down to Alpha (where you are during day-dreaming) then into the Theta frequency (where you are during vivid dreaming) and finally into Delta (where you are in a deep sleep and your body locks up and begins to heal and repair itself.)
Is Hypnotherapy safe?
Absolutely yes. It is a safe method of helping people make desired changes. In some cases however, I may ask that you consult your medical practitioner prior to hypnosis for instance if you are suffering epilepsy or a psychotic illness.
Can you make me do something against my will?
Absolutely not. Clinical Hypnotherapy is not stage hypnosis. You will only be guided to make the changes you wish to make.
Will I be 'awake'?
Yes, you will be awake and if you follow the instruction, you will be very relaxed. You will not be asleep.
